MEDICAL STUDY PROGRAMS

Employment of graduates of the Medical Study programs is expected to develop much faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2014 as the health care industry expands because of technological advances in medicine and the growth and aging of the populace. Increasing use of medical assistants in the rapidly growing health care industry will help stimulate job growth. In fact, this field is projected to be one of the fastest increasing occupations over the 2004–14 period.

Employment growth will be driven by the increase in the number of group practices, clinics, and other health care facilities that need a high percentage of support personnel.  In view of the preference of many health care employers for trained personnel, job prospects should be best for medical assistants with formal training or experience, particularly for those with certification.

The following programs of study are approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Veterans' Education, 101 East 15th Street, Austin, Texas 78778-0001 and are accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (www.council.org), 41 Perimeter Center East, NE., Ste. 640, Atlanta, Georgia 30346 (770) 396-3898.
