Nurses’ assistants work with nurses, doctors, and other medical personnel in order
to make them comfortable during their hospital visits. They respond to the patients
needs by delivering messages, making beds, and serving meals. These assistants
also help the patients with simple tasks they are not able to complete themselves,
such as helping them to eat, providing skin care, dressing, and bathing.
Often they perform medical tasks as well, like taking pulse rates, temperature,
respiration rate, and blood pressure. Nursing assistants are in tune with
a patient’s mental, physical, and emotional well being and are able to relay significant
observations to a nurse or doctor in order to secure the most appropriate
treatment. TOTAL CLOCK HOURS: 345 ESTIMATED COMPLETION TIME: 20 weeks for day students (not available in the evening) |
